Aikido supplies
Known as "the gentle art af self-defense", Aikido is both a philosophical pursuit and a martial art, and a great metaphor for application in life. By receiving and redirecting our opponent's energy, we can transform the attack and quickly end it with a pin and/or joint lock.
People always experience the same problems with buying practice uniforms- The unfamiliar, Asian sizes vary widely between brands and they tend to shrink a lot if you dare to machine wash and dry them.
Every Aikidoka wants the best dogi they can get without spending a lot (Do= way and Gi= uniform). We selected these based on years of buying our own. Then we washed them, tumble dried them, and measured them for standard, western sizing. Send us your shirt size (15, 16 1/2, etc.) and your pant size (32 length/34 length, etc.) and we'll send you a dogi that'll fit after you wash dry them. *We recommend cold water and low heat settings*
Both are absolutely top quality garments, with rice grain weave pattern in the sleeves and sholder area, and waffle weave pattern in the waist and skirt area. The pants are the traditional, Japanese type, with drawstring waist and heavily reinforced knees and seams. These dogis are made to withstand years of high falls and hard throws.

Fuji Single Weave Aikido Dogis
These are very tough dogis. The material, especially the pants, are made of noticably heavier cotton cloth. They're still soft and very comfortable. Fuji has great lables, with Mt Fuji imposed over a red, rising sun.
Mizuno Single Weave Aikido Dogis
It's hard to find a more comfortable heavy duty dogi than this at any price. These are super durable and very soft. It's a real comfort during those long, multi-session workshops!
